I could see this coming a while back, which is why i decided to leave Blogger and go offshore. Although we never had a problem with Google and the blog, you could just sense that there were too many butthurt people who’s ego had been hurt, and it was only a matter of time before Google got fed up with dozens of complaints everyday and took action.
If you back up daily, it’s no problem, just a case of converting the Blogspot files and uploading to a new server, but if they didn’t do a regular back up, i’m afraid it’s gone forever.
One person who was happy to see it gone, was Nedrauk. To say the blog and him didn’t see eye to eye, is a bit of an understatement.
Ned never swears, so for him to post the word ‘shit’, he must of been either been on such a high he forgot where he was typing, or he’d been at the wine again lol
Just rub it in a bit more eh 🙂
As you can see, there is no love lost between the two. Personally i’ve never understood just why they hate the guy so much, but hey, it’s none of my business at the end of the day.
It’s looking bleak for bloggers with Google hosting at the moment, and i can only see it getting worse.
My advice, buy a domain and spend a couple of quid a month on hosting, knowing that when you go to bed, the site will still be there in the morning.
